Position Overview:Assistant Banquet Manger - assists the Director of Banquets in the coordination and delegation of tasks within the assigned working station/sector, ensuring an efficient, luxury and smooth service flow and stellar dining experience for our guests.The Role:
Assists the Banquet Manager in the coordination and delegation of daily tasks to deliver an exceptional operating performance.
Communicates expectations, recognizes performance, and produces consistent desired business results.

Ensures and provides flawless, upscale, professional and high-class guest service experiences as a role model and expertise in all departmental related matters.
Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
Coordinate tasks within the assigned sector to ensure that smooth running of service..
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
Handling complaints and resolving service 'Glitches', keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensures that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction.
Assists the higher management in updating the Standard Operating Procedures in accordance to the hotel standards and business level by suggesting improvements to improve efficiency of work and performance.
Report any issue or damages and breakdowns within working areas and the hotel to ensure a defect-free facilities and service amenities provided.
Ensure all team members recognizes the importance of LQA and Forbes standards as to deliver excellent audit and service performance.
Empower team members to take ownership and responsibility in going beyond to exceed guest expectations. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Monitor performances team members and provide effective performance feedback for improvements, recognition and performance appraisal as due.
Mentor and guide individual team members' growth and identify short to long-term goals to achieve and ensure high colleague engagement and welfare.
Proactively identify training needs of team members to ensure enhancement and performance improvement.
Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support.
Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
Complies strictly to all departmental operating standards, policies and procedures set by the hotel.
Be able to perform all tasks within the department and assist in shift coverage when necessary.
Complete supervision of all service activities in his outlet, guides, leads and corrects service employees.
To handle pre- meal briefings:
A). To be sure all pertinent information is passed to employees. * B) To review service.C). To be thoroughly familiar with hotel rules and regulations and Emergency procedures.
Responsible for all phases of service IE. the appearance of function room, table set up, and all employees working there.
Liaise closely with the Catering Sales Manager and be aware of changes to the guest requirements.
Responsible that all employees are aware of When, How, Why and what to maintain with regards to all service - related equipment.
Schedule staff based on Event Order /Banquet Cover forecast.
Coordinate room set requirements with Supervisor as per event order and client requests.
Inspect and be responsible for final set up arrangements.
Handle guest queries and complaints in a professional manner.

Play an active role in selling and up selling.
Consult with Executive Chef in all matters relating to quality and presentation of food.
Conduct regular staff meetings to keep all associates informed.
