At Living Roots, we regenerate agriculture by restoring soil biology and empowering farmers with sustainable, biological solutions that heal the land and increase yields. One of Southeast Asia’s most urgent challenges is crop burning, a practice that worsens climate change, degrades soil, and harms public health. We’re looking for a bold, mission-driven leader to join us as Head of No Crop Burning, a strategic, field-forward role focused on eliminating crop burning by replacing it with regenerative alternatives. You’ll work directly with farmers, businesses, and governments to drive change through education, innovation, and biological solutions that work in the real world.TasksAs Head of No Crop Burning, you will:
  • Lead farmer outreach programs to reduce burning by introducing regenerative residue management practices.
  • Work closely with our agronomy and product teams to develop and scale biological solutions—such as microbial blends that break down straw or corn stalks directly in the field, turning waste into fertility.
  • Design and execute large-scale, multi-stakeholder campaigns across crop cycles and regional contexts.
  • Build strong partnerships with agribusinesses, mills, buyers, and local governments to align incentives toward no-burn practices.
  • Represent Living Roots in conferences, field days, and public speaking engagements.
  • Oversee trials and data collection to measure outcomes on yield, soil health, and air quality.
  • Support grant writing, climate funding applications, and reporting to scale no-burn programs.
Requirements
  • Based in or willing to travel to rural areas.
  • Fluent in Thai and English (spoken and written).
  • Proven experience leading projects or campaigns involving multiple stakeholders (e.g. farmers, NGOs, government, or private sector).
  • Deep interest in regenerative agriculture, sustainability, or climate solutions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Independently driven in every way.
  • Willingness to run and grow an entire team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Passion for working directly with farmers and rural communities.
  • Familiarity with biological fertilizers, composting, or crop residue management techniques.
  • Experience working across private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Background in grant writing, fundraising, or impact reporting.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute regionally scaled initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote setting.
Benefits
  • Make a measurable impact on climate resilience, air quality, and soil regeneration.
  • Autonomy to build and lead a high-impact, nationally visible program.
  • Join a values-aligned, science-driven team at the forefront of regenerative agriculture in Southeast Asia.
  • Flexible working model (office + field + remote).
  • Long-term leadership opportunities in a fast-growing mission-driven company.
  • Equity in the startup and product we're building.
