Role Purpose:
  • The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective availability of raw materials, packaging material, and others supplies required for production. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating material requirements based on production forecasts and customer demand, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing material shortages or excess.
Accountabilities:
  • Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material needs and generate purchase requisitions accordingly.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding excess stock or shortages that could disrupt production.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve delivery issues, and track order status.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and adjust plans to account for delays or changes in demand.
  • Ensure accuracy of material master data, bills of materials (BOM), and inventory records in planning systems.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. •Identify and resolve material-related issues such as delays, quality problems, or mismatched deliveries.
  • Prepare reports on material status, shortages, inventory level & stock coverage, and other report/ documentation to identify if any supply risk from supplier and provide mitigation plan to avoid any disruption to meet production forecasts.
  • Process improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory control, and supplier delivery performance.
  • To perform any ad-hoc tasks given/ other duties necessary.
Critical Capability & Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in using production planning system tools, such as SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
  • To be able to adapt changing of production plan in a short timing to support customer demand or unexpected disruptions.
Essential Knowledge:
  • A solid understanding of supply chain management principles and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems and SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for managing material planning and inventory.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and procurement processes, including generating purchase orders and supplier delivery (OTIF) performance.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or business or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years in supply chain area with particular focus on material planning in manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in managing inventory levels, including forecasting demand and optimizing stock levels, and resolving supply chain issues.
  • Experience with SAP Planning tools (MRP systems).

  • Based in manufacturing site located in Chonburi plant, Thailand.
  • Extend working hours to support operation as and when required.
