We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Mechanical Engineer / Production Engineer to support day-to-day plant operations and assist the Production Manager in driving operational efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role focuses less on product design and more on process improvement, equipment maintenance coordination, and production workflow optimization within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Production Manager in overseeing daily production activities to ensure smooth operations and adherence to schedules.
Monitor and analyze production performance metrics (e.g., downtime, output rates, scrap) and propose improvements.
Assist in implementing and maintaining lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production equipment and collaborate with technical teams to resolve problems quickly.
Participate in root cause analysis of production bottlenecks and quality issues.
Maintain accurate records of production data, reports, and equipment logs.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Liaise with other departments including Quality, Logistics, and Engineering to support operational goals.
Support training and supervision of shop floor personnel when required. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant operations environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, production processes, and industrial equipment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methods.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of ERP systems.
