Our client is putting together a proposal for work on the Purple Line Extension EPC (PPLE) in Thailand and they are looking for suitably experienced and qualified candidates for the role of Requirements Engineer.This work is not expected to start until mid-2026.As part of the EPC System Engineering Management unit, Requirements Engineer is responsible for facilitating the project's Requirements Management function in support of the Verification and Validation processes, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and enabling Taking Over and final acceptance of the railway project.Principal responsibilitiesThe principal responsibilities of the Requirements Engineer shall include:1) Facilitating the import, analysis, and parsing of requirements from the Contract Specifications into discrete, manageable requirement statements, and allocating them to the appropriate Sub-systems.2) Supporting the allocation of requirements to Sub-systems based on inputs such as:a) Hazard Logsb) Interface Control Documents (ICD)c) Study Reportsd) Stakeholder analyses of Operational Requirementse) Design Traceability3) Supporting, and where necessary facilitating, the traceability of design elements back to the corresponding requirements to ensure full requirements coverage.4) Supporting, and where required facilitating, Verification activities to demonstrate that the design satisfies the specified requirements.5) Supporting, and where required facilitating, Validation activities to confirm that the implemented system fulfils the intended requirements.6) Ensuring proper integration with the change control process, so that any changes to requirements are accurately captured and incorporated into the System and Sub-System Requirements Specification.Job RequirementsEducational qualificationsThe Requirements Engineer is required to have, as a minimum, a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in the Information Systems, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.ExperienceThe Requirements Engineer shall possess the following professional experience:1) A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the railway sector, with deep expertise in at least one domain and a solid general understanding of other related domains.2) Proven experience working within engineering project environments.3) Hands-on experience with requirements management databases and tools.4) Overseas work experience in an English-speaking country will be considered an advantage.Skills and abilitiesThe Requirements Engineer must possess the following skills and abilities:1) Advanced proficiency in English, with a strong understanding of engineering terminology and nuances.2) Exceptional attention to detail.3) Excellent communication skills.4) Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with skills well above average.5) Solid understanding of requirements traceability systems.
