  • Respond to customer inquiries in regions not covered by distributors.
  • Receive, evaluate, and appropriately distribute direct customer inquiries.
  • Provide assistance in preparing both routine and complex customer orders.
  • Handle sensitive customer correspondence and follow up on internal sales-related matters.
  • Initiate appropriate follow-up actions for customers and distributors as requested by Sales Product/Segment Managers.
Quotations and Proposals
  • Create, update, and manage proposal and sales quotation structures for all products and services.
  • Prepare quotations using information provided by the Product and Engineering Departments.
Business Information System & Data Management
  • Implement and maintain all sales-related functions within the business information system.
  • Develop and maintain accurate databases for customer information, installed machines, and price lists, in collaboration with Product/Segment Managers and the Marketing Planning Manager.
  • Maintain procedures for entering customer orders into the operations cycle.
  • Generate complete and timely order packages for each customer order.
Technical and Marketing Support
  • Create and update technical product and application information using materials from other departments.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams by maintaining technical documentation and promotional tools.
Sales Reporting and Analysis
  • Develop and maintain a computerized reporting system to track sales calls, orders, distributor activities, and lost business opportunities.
  • Develop and manage systems for tracking and reporting commission payments to distributors and sales representatives.
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience requirementsQualifications and Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Sales or Marketing Support roles, preferably within the metal stamping or power press machinery industry.
  • Solid understanding of integrated business information systems.
  • Proficient in PC software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and graphic tools.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing sales quotations and proposals.
Cross-Functional Knowledge
  • Experience in supporting customers and sales teams through collaboration with at least two of the following departments:
o Manufacturingo Applications Engineeringo Product Managemento Customer Serviceo Marketing CommunicationsPersonal Attributes
  • Proactive, creative, and capable of working independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities in both spoken and written English. Japanese language skills are an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% or more, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Willing and able to support or be stationed at affiliated companies worldwide.
