Our client is putting together a proposal for work on the Purple Line Extension EPC (PPLE) in Thailand and they are looking for suitably experienced and qualified candidates for the role of Configuration Manager.This work is not expected to start until mid-2026.Job Function:As part of the EPC System Engineering Management unit, Configuration Manager role is to manage the overall configuration of the Mechanical and Electrical System, both in design/documentation aspects as well as physical aspects. The position reports to the System Engineering Manager for design and documentation issues and coordinates with the Construction Manager for field issues. This position is based in the EPC Project Management Office however some field work may be required as necessary during the installation and commissioning stages of the Project as well as limited offshore travel.Principal Responsibilities:The principal responsibilities of the Configuration Manager shall be as follows:1. Develop and maintain plans, standards, and procedures necessary to support the project's configuration management process.2. Manage the implementation of the configuration management process and ensure its publication to Sub-system Subcontractors.3. Coordinate the project's change control function and provide support to the Change Control Board.4. Consult with Sub-system Subcontractors to establish change reporting mechanisms and prepare directives for change authorization and documentation by M&E Contractor and Subcontractor personnel.5. Coordinate the review of Asset Functional Location Data and Maintenance Planning Data.6. Oversee the review of Spare Parts and Special Tools lists, ensuring the integrity of item identification.7. Represent the project during audits and inspections related to configuration management.8. Audit configuration management documents and records of Sub-system Subcontractors to verify compliance with contract requirements.9. Conduct physical configuration audits in accordance with the Configuration Management Plan.Job RequirementsEducational qualificationsThe Configuration Manager is required to have, as a minimum, a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in the Information Systems, Electrical or Electronics disciplines.The Configuration Manager is required to have the following work experience:1) Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering, including the implementation of systems and processes for configuration management, asset management, and change control.2) Proven experience working in engineering project environments.3) Experience in railway systems projects is an advantage.4) Familiarity with configuration management and asset management databases.5) Overseas work experience in an English-speaking country will be viewed favourably.Skills and abilitiesThe Configuration Manager is expected to possess the following skills and competencies:1) Strong ability to produce high-quality technical and administrative documents in English.2) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.3) Exceptional attention to detail.4) Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.1) Solid general understanding of configuration management systems and principles.
