A Cost Estimator analyses data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to provide a service. Cost Estimators collect and analyze data in order to assess the likely cost of a potential project or service for tender.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data
Review material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
Cost tracking to ensure project execution is within the estimated budget
Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services
Assist compiling commercial proposal
Qualifications:
Male/Female
At least 2 years of experience in cost estimation or related field
Proficiency in cost estimation software and spreadsheet applications
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
